Atlético Madrid Uses AI Graphics to Publicly Mock Barcelona Over Transfer Rumors
Atlético Madrid Blurs Reality by Posting AI-Generated Images of Lamine Yamal in Atlético Kit to Mock Barça Transfer Rumors
Atlético Madrid publicly mocked FC Barcelona by posting AI-generated images showing Lamine Yamal (and later other Barça players) wearing Atlético shirts. The posts were a sarcastic response to transfer rumours linking Julián Álvarez with Barcelona.
Atlético framed it like a fake transfer announcement and joked that they had “offered” things like concert tickets and sunflower seeds in exchange for Yamal. They later admitted the content was quickly created and used it to make a point about transfer rumours and misinformation online.
The posts spread widely because clubs usually avoid directly trolling rivals through official accounts and especially using AI-generated transfer graphics.
