Golden State Warriors Make Summer League History With an Incredible Comeback Win to Capture Their Second Championship Ever in Las Vegas

The Golden State Warriors are on top of the basketball world once again after an unforgettable run in Las Vegas. In a thrilling final game against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Warriors pulled off a massive comeback to win 94-90 and capture the official Summer League championship. It is a huge moment for the franchise, marking only their second Summer League title in history and their first since back in 2013. 
Things did not look easy for Golden State early on. The Memphis Grizzlies came out firing and played very strong basketball. Led by talented young players like Cameron Boozer and Cedric Coward, Memphis managed to build a solid ten-point lead by the end of the third quarter. Fans watching the game thought the Warriors were out of time and out of luck. 
However, the Golden state Warriors squad refused to give up. Heading into the fourth quarter, they flipped a switch and turned up their defensive energy. Pushing the pace and fighting for every loose ball, they slowly chipped away at the lead.
The main star of the show was rookie standout Yaxel Lendeborg. Lendeborg played the game of his life when it mattered the most. He finished the night with an amazing 21 points and 10 rebounds. More importantly, he came up big in the clutch. With just a couple of minutes left on the clock, Lendeborg hit a massive three pointer that put the Warriors ahead. He followed that up with a quick mid range jumper to silence the Grizzlies and secure the lead. Because of his incredible performance down the stretch, Lendeborg was rightfully named the Summer League Championship Game MVP. 
He was not the only one who helped spark the comeback. Deivon Smith played an amazing game off the bench, adding another 21 points for the Warriors. LJ Cryer also chipped in with 15 important points to help keep the offense moving. On the other side, Memphis fought hard until the very last second. Both Boozer and Coward finished with 19 points apiece, but a couple of late game turnovers and missed shots cost them the game. 
When the final buzzer sounded, the Warriors bench ran onto the court to celebrate. Finishing the tournament with a strong 5-1 record, this young team proved they have a lot of talent and heart. While Summer League games do not count toward the regular season standings, winning a championship gives this group massive confidence. Golden State fans have every reason to be excited about the bright future of these young players as they get ready for the upcoming NBA season.
