Max Verstappen delivered a stunning qualifying performance at Monaco, smashing the circuit lap record by an extraordinary 0.8 seconds to claim pole position.

The Red Bull driver navigated the narrow Monegasque streets with a precision that drew gasps from onlookers and eulogies from fellow drivers. His fastest lap of 1:08.412 left the entire paddock speechless.

"The car was perfect, I was in a zone," Verstappen said after climbing from his cockpit. "Monaco is special — you are always on the limit, always one mistake from the wall. Today everything just clicked."

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc qualified second, 0.94 seconds behind, and admitted the gap was "a bit demoralising." Sunday's race promises fireworks with rain forecast.
